RECONCILIATION FORUM 2009

In March of 2009, ABC held the inaugural Reconciliation Forum in Washington D.C., with Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The Reconciliation Forum engaged participants in a level of discussion and inquiry to illuminate understanding of the forces that divide people and ignite conflict, as well as those that forge reconciliation and its ultimate goal: lasting peace.

HEALING POWER OF MUSIC

Held at the World Economic Forum in Cartagena, Colombia in 2010, the Healing Power of Music event highlighted the unique power music has to inspire mass movements and inspire people to take action. ABC* worked with Jesse Dylan, who directed Barack Obama’s “Yes We Can!” video, to produce video content from the events to further spread the ABC* message.

THE COURAGE FORUM

Held in New York City in May of 2010, the Courage Forum united some of the Americas’ most prominent activists, architects, artists, athletes, bloggers, business leaders, change agents, environmentalists, explorers, filmmakers, iconoclasts, idea generators, journalists, lawyers, media tycoons, musicians, opinion leaders, philanthropists, and performers to celebrate the power of individual courage and willpower.

PODER – ABC BUSINESS AWARDS

Every year PODER Magazine, celebrates excellence in leadership in the Americas and throughout the world by recognizing Latin American men and women who have demonstrated remarkable strategy, vision and execution in their respective businesses. Since 2009, the ABC* Foundation joined PODER in a partnership to recognize men and women who are enacting positive change across the region in three categories: social entrepreneurship, sustainability, and peace.

ABC GREEN FORUM: OCEANS

ABC* and National Geographic Society, hosted the two-day Oceans Forum in Miami. The event featured a series of lectures focused on the politics, biology, and economics of the world’s oceans. Scientists, advocates, and marine enthusiasts discussed the increasing need for sustainability, and the roles that each of us can play in preserving and strengthening our oceans.
