Before there was abc*, there was PODER Magazine, a publication dedicated to informing and inspiring Latin American leaders on issues impacting their communities.
After a successful track record with the magazine and its international forums, the leaders of PODER decided in 2008 to create a foundation that would take the next step real engagement by leaders in their communities. While the United States has a strong tradition of civic engagement, this simply does not exist in Latin America. abc* founders wanted to change that.
